my nly suggestion is that you change the pads more often, the moisture from them can cause irritation thus the redness and swelling, it has happened to me when I worked long hours and could nor get it changed often, after you shower use some powder and try to change as often as eery 3-4 hours. Good luck honey, I hope this helps, I know its not comfortable.

Sounds like you have a reaction from the pads that you are using. They have vaginal cream that you can use to help with the pain. I would switch pads and if the problem does not go away with in a few days go see you GYN or family doctor. Good luck

First of all, please don't say things like "down there" it's a VAGINA, or VAGINAL area...just say it.
Now, change the pads, yes. But you may be one of those people who can't use pads or tampons. In that case you may want to use a menstrual cup. (My personal fav anyway.) They come in disposable or reusable. The reusable's are made of medical grade silicone or latex. I'd opt for the silicone version if you go that route. Otherwise, your walmart should carry a product called "instead" which is a disposable menstrual cup. I like those.
See a doctor for sure. You could have a yeast or other type of infection as well.

Try Kotex, if thats not what your already using. I've tried pretty much every other brand and thats all i can use. They have a different kind of top to them and thats the only thing i can use cause i have super sensitive skin. Whatever you change to do it soon, cause its no fun at all as you already know. If your gettin discharge thou then go to the doctor cause it could be some sort of infection.

How often do you change your pad? A pad can block "air flow" to the pubic region, especially if they're really thick and designed for "overnight" or "heavy" flow. I suggest you use a thinner pad that's designed for the aforementioned types to allow for air. The vagina can get a bit sore from using too thick a pad and wearing the same one for too long.

I feel like that towards the end of my period. I think it is the pads but I like them so much I just deal with it. Staying really clean helps, and it goes away like one or two days after my period. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck!

id advise going to the doctors asap but it can be kinda embarrasing so try changing from pads to tampons... they arent that bad really, you know that funky blood smell you get with pads... well not with tampons! if it still dont go away ill tell some one if i were you
