Should I choose suicide by volcano?

Question

I want to find a live Hawaiian volcano and throw myself into it while videotaping the whole thing. I think this may be my purpose in life. My purpose is to feed the abyss and provide wonderful entertainment for all the kiddies and kiddies at heart. It would be better than all those movies because it will be real.

I think it would be a great way to go and should provide some great news for the whole country. Headline: "Guy jumps into Live Volcano and Dies". Great stuff. Should help some budding journalist out there get a job and support his or her family (one more than I have). Of course the police will get it first if I'm not careful.

I've made my decision and it will be an awesome decision to be remembered by people for at least three weeks maybe four.

How can I go about doing this? Any other suggestions?

Note: I'm serious. I'm not kidding.

Don't be sad baby girl, the cool footage of the volcano and the burning body will distract you from missing me. That is, if a stranger really can care about me anyway.

Not a good idea to do it in Hawaii.

The tourist economy is very fragile. An incident like that would likely make the news as you say, but visits to the volcano would stop for a while and some tour providers would likely go broke.

It might be entertaining for people on the mainland but not for us. It would be a disaster. Please don't come here to ruin everybody else's happy family vacation and livelihood. The economy is slow enough as it is.

I hope you get some help. My mom killed herself and it ruined everybody's life around her for about the next 20 years or so. We can all still feel the pain just like it was yesterday sometimes. She probably felt like everyone would be better off without her but that wasn't the case. It would have been much better for everyone if she had done something else. Believe me when I say... No one wants these things to happen.

I don't know how to respond to this. I feel like giving you the whole rundown on how life isn't that bad and suicide is not the answer would be seen as condescending and fake. I remember reading an article on a female journalist who said, "In keeping with Channel 40's policy of bringing you the latest in blood and guts, and in living color, you are going to see another first: an attempted suicide." She then shot herself in the head. I don't know what point (if any) you are trying to make and I don't know why, but I think you should reconsider your decision. It sounds like you want to be remember or at least known to the world and there are so many betters ways to do that. I guess I have started to give you the whole 'don't do it' advice regardless of my first sentence but that's only because I genuinely don't want you to. I don't know you and probably won't ever, but I sincerely hope that you find a reason to live and enjoy life.

As the journalist showed, we are a desensitzed and bloodthirsty society that is fasinated by gruesome and violent media. They won't get the bitter irony of your death and it will become a 15 minute spectecle that will be washed out by whatever bomb goes off next. There are better ways to impact and change the world.

Ah. To be grouped in with the mindless mass of prosthetic people who care in moral obligation but goggle and stare at the destruction and gore when it comes down to it. I have to admit, that hurts. What hurts more is the possiblity that it might be true. How about you don't throw yourself in a volocanoe so I don't ever have to find out if I am like that and I can live in blissful ignorance of my true nature for the rest of my exsistence.

I'm very sympathy when hearing about your idea. That's really great. I' m talking seriously. Sometimes, I think about a wonderful way to be dead but I have not found out until now.
Throwing your self into an active vocano is very fantastic. But there is still a difficult thing that how can you reach nearly an active vocano. That could not be unless you use a helicopter.

Wear a heat-proof suit & jump in .. people will think you've died & you can swim out & stick around to enjoy your fame!!!
