I don't think I'll ever have kids unless I can give them superpowers through genetic engineering. There is no telling how bleak or dangerous the future will be and they will need all the powers they can get.

Is this wrong?

The future will only be dangerous if everyone gets these so-called "superpowers".

But, I'm pretty sure that superpowers are out of the question when it comes to genetic engineering, anyway.

And, yes, I feel it's very wrong to mutate any being, because then they really don't belong to the parents anymore-- they belong to their genes.

That depends. If you believe in God then it would be wrong because He would have your children adapt to the whatever changes the future might be.
If you are not religious you should consider that fact that science is mostly trial and error. Do you want your child to be an error?
If you mutuate your child, he or she could be perfect and have nothing wrong with them. He or she could be really smart, or a great athlete etc.
Or , something could go wrong and you would have to live with that.
As advanced as science is, they still are having problems with cloning, and they do not fully understand the human brain.
If you raise your child right , then you will not have to worry.

well, on the reverse side- if the world gets better in the future- why would you want your kids to have superpowers? And, would you really want to mess with your kid's genetic makeup?

If a boy and a lady, boy and boy, or woman and woman who're appropriate want to have a sexual relationship that's none of our agency. in the adventure that in addition they pick to have children that is once lower back no longer our agency. yet i might want to wish they could pick to undertake or surrogate. i might want to also want to communicate about that somewhat one with 2 appropriate mothers and fathers might want to larger than probable no longer be deformed or have any issues except they were he outcome of generations of incestuous children.
