I know men love to take advantage of women at dealerships and it really pisses me off....shouldn't they have a man present with them to prevent this?

Women should arm themselves with knowledge. My father is a mechanic and I grew up around cars all of my life. Right after I joined the Army, I decided to use my signing bonus to buy a Jeep Cherokee Sport. I had wanted one for years and finally had the money. I mentioned it in passing at work one day and my boss was convinced that I needed to take one of the guys with me, even though these guys didn't know anything about cars that didn't pertain to rims and woofers. Oh, did I mention that my stepmother is a loan officer at a bank? I walked into the dealership, told the salesman exactly what I wanted and what I'd pay for it and was prepared to walk away if I didn't get it. It's all part of the game. I got what I wanted. I got a better deal on my car than anyone else in my unit, to their dismay. I have been driving that fabulous vehicle for 5 years and it's in awesome shape.

It isn't gender, it's brains, baby, and anyone can learn.

Yes, they absolutely should be able to, but the reality is they can't!

Women just need to assume they are going to be ripped off at dealerships, get the offer or information, take it home and research it.

I once had car problems, a dealership looked at it, they said it needed a $70 repair, I knew it was bogus, so I made a phone call, turns out it was a $7 part and ONE screw. I was easily able to fix it myself.

Assume the worst and protect yourself ladies!

I went to a dealership and got my car w/o a man. Got a decent deal, too. I think a woman must go "educated" about the scams 'n bullshit dealers like to play and pull on them. Never go to a showroom (never buy a car off the floor!) without reading FIRST! Secondly, get your credit union or bank to help you out.

I go by myself and I have always gotten a good deal, got a great deal years ago when I bought an 18 wheeler...

I know it does happen just as you say, maybe they should be set up and then sued and that would slow it down... just an idea lol

I have bought several cars without my hubby with me. You just have to be wise to their tricks....If it makes you feel better have a friend go with you. I know of a case where a dealer sold a lady a new car she thought. Turned out when she went to get insurance they told her it was a year old, NOT new. They wouldn't do anything...so sad

your kidding me right? A few of my female friends sell cars at dealerships. If a female does her homework and knows how to negotiate then she is fully capable of buying anything she wants.

If they feel more comfortable with a man present, they should bring a man. If they feel more comfortable going alone, they should go alone.

HEY WOMEN USE THEIR BODIES TO DO THE SAME THING TO MEN SO IF YOUR ARE A SUCKA ITS YOUR OWN FAULT IF YOU DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GO AND ARE SOMEWHAT EDUCATED ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE BUYING YOU SHOULD BE FINE NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE
