Deadstock items are merchandise that was never sold, is new and unused. It's goods that sat in a warehouse or storeroom somewhere without ever being put onto store shelves for sale. The store may have over-ordered, or there was lower than expected demand, or, and this happens, it could have just been forgotten.
Quality deadstock merchandise should be brand new, with the original packaging and tags. Some signs of aging may be present if the merchandise is very old or was stored in less than ideal storage conditions.
