I ask because I'm going to Navy Pier on a trip and I want to go to boystown for my first time, and I'm pretty confident I could get a cab from Navy Pier to Boystown, but I'm afraid once I get to boystown I wont be able to get a cab back to navy pier in time to catch my bus home. Can anyone give me some advice?

you'll find a cab in boystown in less than 5minutes, I've never waited more, it'll take 20minutes to get to Navy Pier

It won't be a problem. Cabs are constantly running up and down Halsted, Addison, Clark, and Belmont throughout Boystown at all hours of the day. Even if you did have trouble finding a cab, which is unlikely, you could easily catch the Red Line L at Sheffield and Addison or at Sheffield and Belmont and take that back down to Grand, near Navy Pier.

Catching a cab along Halsted or Broadway is rarely a problem and the Red Line is close.
One note, the new Boystown is really Andersonville (further north along Clark St). Cabs are plentiful there as well or again, just follow the Red Line.

at belmont theres usually cabs there.. tho i dont know what part of boystown your refering too
you can always arrange for a cab to pick you up at a certain time at a certain spot.

No pblm. There will be cabs at both ends of your trip....about 10-15 min. ride.
