She asked to get others opinions about what they think would be a good park to go to. I have a brother who is 9 (which park is better for kids his age) I myself am 15 and dont know which park i would enjoy more...pros and cons for both would be great : )

Totally different parks.

Animal Kingdom is all about wildlife and such.
MGM is more "modern" feeling with rollercoasters and based on a Hollywood/SoCal theme.

My family liked Animal Kingdom better because we are animal lovers.
You might want to look at the Disney site for height requirements because your brother may not be able to ride all the rides at MGM.

Have a great time!!

Animal Kingdom has this ride that you get to see a whole bunch of real animals.Like-elephants, dear, zebras. There is also a little petting zoo, where kids can pet camels[I believe], llamas and sheep. In one particular area, there was this trashcan, it moved and it talked! And it could actually "see" things, it pointed out the cute puppy on my shirt. It was really funny and quite cute. A lot of the rides are more for little kids. There isn't much rides there. There is a cool dinosaur ride though. I personally prefer MGM studios WAY better. There is more rides, more thrill type rides. There is Tower of Terror, [which is truly one of the best rides ever] Rockin' Roller Coaster and others. I suggest that you go to MGM, just because there are more rides. **just a little thing that might do you good-->when you are in line, and the Cast Member asks you "How many are in your party?" at that time, you can ask to sit in front of the ride. They will let you, no matter what. Plus, it's WAY cooler in front. :D Hope I helped. :D

First of all, tell your mom that as an experienced Disney traveler, the park hopper option is a great idea. I know is costs extra, but in the long run it makes for a better Disney experience, even for a short stay. If you don't get the park hopper, you are stuck with one park on one day. If you get the Park hopper, you can go to Epcot in the A.M and the Magic Kingdom in the P.M. It is always a possibility that the parks are crowded, so it gives you the flexibility to shift gears if necessary.
As for the third park to go to, I think MGM would be the best. There are some really cool shows and restaurants, and the rides are really cool. You will want to go on the Tower of Terror, the Aerosmith Rock 'N' Roller coaster, Star Tours, The Great Movie Ride, and see the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. All are can't miss attractions. I suggest picking up the latest Birnbaums Guide to WDW. It has some great detailed info on what to to and where to go.

Have a great time. I LOVE talking to people about Disney and getting the excitement for my trip going. I am taking my family in April for 9 Days and we can't wait.

Well I've gone to Disneyworld so many times I know each park by memory...

MGM is more like for teens and older people I'm not saying that little kids get bored because my little sis is 11 and my brother is 9 and they had fun but there are rides which are not appropriate for them like Aerosmith's Rock & Roll Coaster or The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror...because of height and because the rides are pretty extreme but there is also good rides for them like the Indiana Jones & Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Shows and The Great Movie Rida is an awesome experince...I personally ♥ MGM...it's my fave.

Animal Kingdom is more for the whole family to enjoy...Because of its rides and everything...you see animals and explore and little kids have a lot of fun there...

I guess you could all decide where to go either of them are pretty fun so you'll always have a greta time no matter which you go to.

I have taken two of my kids to disneyWorld when they were both 9 and I thought MGM was well worth their time. Animal Kingdom has all the animal stuff---the Lion King show and Safari ride . It's got this huge tree in the middle of the park with carvings of animals all around it. You walk thru different areas that look like different countries and sometimes can't find animals cuz they hide---like at any zoo. MGM has great shows that involve movie tricks. There are old movie props and the Indiana Jones show. It really depends on if you want to experience the movie making theme or the nature side. Whatever you choose---you'll have a ball!!! Oh--and if you can make it to the Arabian Nights--it's a great show (in southern Orlando) with horses and tricks.

we have been going for the past 2 years now and we love to go to magic kingdom the 1st and last day we r there. also we loved universal studios and island's of adventure. You can go to universalstudios.com and get discount tix and great deals like 2 days pay and 3 free. we did that and had a blast1 alo MGM is only real fun if it is starwars weekend so check that out if you like taht stuff but it is fun eitherway. Epcot is ok (educational) and is more of the shopping and eating place to be. I would say do magic kingdom, universal/island's of adventure(everyone will love), mgm, epcot, animal kingdom. oh and if you don't have a place to stay try westgate resorts. it is a timeshare but you can get a discount on the apt(300 bucks for 1 week!) and all you have to do is go to a tour and no you do not have to buy anything. we have done it 2 times and I would reccommend staying at westgate spa or palace. They r beautiful. nyway have a blast OH and 1 more thing, if you have leftover tix you can sell them back to people in booths on international drive in orlando. they buy them back from 20 bucks to 45. so u can get something as simple as lunch money back hahhaha

MGM. Sorry, but Animal Kindom s---s. The only good thing there is that new Everest roller coaster. From what I hear, everybody goes there to ride it and then leaves. When I was there, I got really ticked about having to get on that dreadful train to get to the animal area. That stinking train - it's the only way out of there! And the line was forever! I was mad, mad, mad. MGM is much better. It has the Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and a lot of other fun stuff that smaller kids will like. Alternately, if possible go to the BEST park in Orlando - Universal's Islands of Adventure. There's LOTS, LOTS there for all ages.

One of the pros of MGM is that many disney characters are walking around there, not just mickey, goofy, minnie, or pluto. As for Animal Kingdom the pros would be the animal theme, especially Kilamanjaro Safari, where you can get up close to the animals. You can even take pictures. I would suggest for your situation, you should go with Animal Kingdom. It has things that younger children really like, and a few thrills (Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest) for us older kids. Hope that helps :)

If you like animals go to animal kingdom. they also have the new ride, Expedition Everest, and it is the best ride in Disney.

MGM has Rock n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. They aren't good for a 9 year old, but anyone older would love them. MGM has great shows also.

I would say MGM

Hi there. MGM and Universal Studios are very cool. They have rides and attractions for people of all ages. The Animal Kingdom was alright. Its honestly a hyped up Disney themed Zoo. If you haven't been to MGM or Universal I would say go with one of those. They are very different from the Disney parks.
