Why or Why not?

Yes, overall.
DisneyWorld has 4700 acres, Disneyland has about 160 acres.
The Magic Kingdom is approximately the same size as Disneyland.
The why is because Walt could only afford that many acres in Anaheim at that time. Later, when he bought the land for WaltDisneyWorld, he did not want to be locked into such a small place, so he bought the land in Orlando under many different names so as not to tip off the press. He wanted to be able to expand as far as he wanted.

It's much bigger. It's not a matter of "why or why not"...it's a FACT. Walt Disney World is much bigger than Disneyland. Back when Walt Disney bought the land in Anaheim, California that Disneyland is on, he didn't have enough money to buy TONS of land. So when they started to develop and build WDW in Orlando, Florida (some 15-20 years later), they could finally afford to buy tons of land out there.

DisneyWorld has 4700 acres, Disneyland has about 165 acres. Actually, the Magic Kingdom in Orlando is about the size of Disney Land itself.
So to answer your question, yes.

Remember, Disney World is a RESORT that contains the Amuesment parks, Disney MGM Studios, EPCOT Center, Animal Kingdom, and The Magic Kingdom. Among other attractions. DisneyLand would fit into Magic Kindom's Parking lot! I used to work there and they would often mention this. You may even hear it on your tram ride to the monorail or boat on your way to the Kingdom. Make sure you check out all the hidden Mickey's in the Park!

whilst Disneyworld opened it grow to be comparable in length to Disneyland (in case you probably did no longer count quantity Epcot), yet because of the fact Disneyland ended up being in a community that stepped forward extraordinarily right this moment, it grew to grow to be demanding to enhance. In Florida, on the different hand, Disney grow with a view to purchase a number of land very low-value taking under consideration destiny enlargement.

Disneyworld is much, much, much, much, much bigger (and in my opinion) better than Disneyland. Disneyworld has attractions such as the Country Bear Jamboree and tons of other things that aren't coming to me as of yet. Disneyland can easily be done in a single day unless you want to hit every kiddie ride in FantasyLand.

Yes, Disney World in Florida is MUCH bigger than Disneyland in California. There is no question in my mind, once people experience Walt Disney World in Florida, everything else pales in comparison, even Disneyland. I am taking my family this April for our 3rd trip in 6 years, and we can't wait.

yes personally i would know this because ive been to both many times...i grew up in orange county and have gone to florida many times

Disneyland(Orange County) is very much the smaller park... Disneyland was the first one built, and currently only has two parks/sections (Disneyland, and Californian Adventure)

However DisneyWorld(Florida) was built after Disneyland and contains four parks/sections(Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM, and Epcot)...

I hope i have answered your question... if you would like more info...feel free to im me
