Can someone give me an explanation for why some people strongly dislike other people for no obvious reason. E.g a few years ago I met a person (who I hardly knew) who hated me, e.g stole my things wrote my name on walls, thew drinks at me. This did not bother me, as I hardly knew the person and I know I did nothing to upset them, so it wasn't my problem if they didn't like me. But the thing I am interested in is what makes people hate other people for no aparant reason? Has something like this ever happened to you?

I think it happens to about everyone.
It could be that they woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. It could be you remind them of someone. Perhaps you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Feelings are irrational. If someone doesn't like you and they don't even know you, it shows that they are emotionally unstable and not someone you want to spend much time with.
I've learned over the years, that if someone doesn't like me, most of the time it's a compliment coming from them! Hateful people hate themselves. They are angry, bitter and mean. They are going through life feeling their way through, rather than thinking. Their lives are always tragedy in the end.
Chances are they don't like many people, including themselves.
Try not to waste too much time worrying about these people. They have issues and chances are not many people like them anyway!

There's always a reason. It's just not apparent to you. But, it's happened to me loads of times.

Yes some jag off *****. Decided that for her own amusement she would mess with me. And treat me like the worlds biggist peice of dirt. Just because she is childish and immature and at that time supposedly did not have much to do. To this day I do not know why she felt the need to piss with me. But I try not to worry about it. The world is unfortuneately full of assholes. And i try hard to stay clear from them now.

Yes it has happened to me
I have learnt from experience now not to take it to heart.
Yes I have disliked people on sight
Thankfully I have seldom been wrong about my gut feeling .
I always leave my self open to learn if they merit this dislike though and have on occasion been very wrong

Yeah I think it can be a kind of instinct to not like some others, & I have had people being unkind to me for no real reason, like in the past.

They might be jealous of you because of something you have, or because of any other reason. By hating you it makes them feel a lot better. This has happened to me before.

Yes, it has happened to me a few times. And I really don't know why people are like that. They're just stupid. Stupid punk azz judgment jerks. (excuse my langue.) They don't know what they could be missing out on. A good friend is one.

i don't know. i'm always kind to people when i meet them. maybe some people see you and think your a certaint type of person based on apperance. even so, i don't know why a stranger would throw a drink at you. thats just weird.

Welcome to my world! My whole high school class it seemed hated me. I think it was because I was bookish and smart. Now I do not have anything to do with these people anymore and the emotional scars are still there.

Its due to their environment where they have grown or faced some hard situations where they have met people resembling you. In order to show their hate to those people who have done wrong with them , they show it on others....
