I actually had to write an essay about this. Came to an odd conclusion.
Basically, I live for the tomorrow I never even know will come. Society now has made it so young people are focusing on the future and not the present. Highschool diploma, college degree, masters, doctorate, jobs, finance, PREPARE PREPARE PREPARE!

It's come to the point where living life NOW is so irrelevant, all you want is to succeed LATER. So basically, I live for tomorrow, for next year, for ten years from now, for any time but today.

I think that I was placed on this earth to ... I don't really know. I will have to give some thought to this question ...

I suppose that I was put here to make people smile, to be happy. It's true, when I walk into a room i really do make the nastiest most cantankerous people happy. I think that's why i am here, I am the guy you can fall on, the boy you can trust.

That's entirely up to YOU! We are each equipped with the ability to express ourselves which is driven by our natural talents, interests and intellects. It is up to each one of us, to find the meaning of our existence, to give each of our lives meaning, through our efforts to do so. It is not the function for another to do this for us. Your meaning for existence is to be found by YOU. This goal that each of should realize we have, will be achieved by our choices and decisions of where to apply said talents, abilities and interests. The "others" we find along the way of our search for our personal meaning, confirms our choices and decisions, good or bad. Hopefully, we learn from our mistakes, and go on to make it better for ourselves. I wish more people would possess this sense of self-direction. There is no one else to be blamed entirely, for our problems within our lives. It is our reaction to those circumstances. And if YOU decide your existence is without meaning, you will succeed. More people should realize, for the sake of their own future happiness, that what one focuses on, one will achieve! It's not magic or hocus pocus! It's not just luck! Will has a lot to do with it! How is it some people overcome all odds, and other's do not? Because they stopped "overcoming", so they achieved their goal, didn't they? They were beat because they gave up! The ones who survive, or achieve, are those who never give up the search. They want to find the answer, and so they do! Have you heard of the "self-fulfilling prophecy"? Or "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it?" It is the mechanism behind all acts of intent - you focus your attention, your energies, and you will achieve! Now, one needs to use one's intelligence as well. You can't be an opera singer or great actor with no shred of actual talent. But we usually have the smarts to align our efforts with our natural talents and inclinations. Watching American Idol, though, really hits home how so many people just are not realistic with who they really are and what they should be doing with their lives. As if to be famous, is all that's worthy in life! Listen to your hearts, people, the answer lies within. YOU exist to find YOU! And when YOU do, YOU will be ready to better understand where YOU fit in this big world of infinite choices and possibilities!

What I feel I exist for doesn't matter. I am religious so I exist because God wants me to be here. He put me here for his reason, so I exist to serve him and carry out his plans.

well ideally i hope i exist so that i can change or inspire something be it person or planet. however, i fear that my failures and not my achievements will do the inspiring and changing. genetically speaking, i probably exist so that diabetes, brain hemorrhage risks, heart disease, high blood pressure etc. all stay in the population. can't let anyone get too comfortable.

there is a God who created you though two people who may or may not have loved each other.
but before you where form in the womb, you were LOVED by this owsome creator, this God knew you and knew you by name, He Loves you always, unconditionally, for ever, does not matter what, you and I may not be loved or liked by the people around us, because this people may not like our hair, eyes, skin, name, ethnicity etc. but GOD loves you for ever and you exist to love and seek Him, your existence has a purpose. The purpose of your existence is to be able to enjoy infinite love and sing to the Lord our God while you see his face and are filled with his love the ultimate goal of your existence.
