We have video games, card games and board games. We try to have a game night once a week with the kids. It is so much fun now that they can play and understand what to do. My 8 year old daughter learned how to play skip bo while I was sleeping I guess. She can beat us all.

My girls are the same ages and we play many games as a family. They love to play poker and Tripoli and what I do is put 10 dollars at most in the pot then we divide the chips evenly and they can keep their winnings. We play the new monopoly with debt cards instead of paper bills. One of their favorites is a pirates of the Caribbean interactive DVD game which combines the board game with questions from one of the movies on your TV screen.

Our family still plays Monopoly and Candy Land, just to name a couple. Not many can gather around the computer to play a family game.

i know this may sound 'nerdy', but i don't believe this...i play chess, and this game will never be obsolete...it teaches analytical skills, and problem solving...it is a very fun game, and it has almost infinite possibilities...and when you think you have mastered it, just keep playing because somebody will come along and teach you another lesson...

No, they're not obsolute--lots of people still play them (even if only once a week or month).

I still play and own Yatzee, Sorry, and Monopoly--I think my grown kids took the rest - we had a lot.
