im in the 8th grade im about 5 8 and i was wonderin if i could play basketball in high school.I can touch rim andi m only 5 8 in the 8th grade and im white i mean thats pretty good i think and im bout 117 lbs.I ve never played on a team in my life.And can i actually be good.Tell me how i can improve my shooting and ball handling plzzz Best answer gets Best Answer

You have a rim? Just practice practice practice. Thats all there is to it. Run some shooting drills and learn the fundamentals. Of course you can play on a team, high school is usually when you start playing on a team. Micheal Jordan got cut from his freshman team. So if you somehow don't make it, don't get discouraged and practice, try again next year.

See if the school has a freshman team, along with a junior varsity team and a varsity team ....so do so do not. When you try out remember chances are there's already 8 or more juniors & seniors bing used as starters and subs, and a few sophmores for added protection and good for practice, where you show the coach your skill level and that you can play, then when your number is called be prepare to play.

Just go out there and play your game. Don't be afraid to handle the ball either. You'll learn pretty quick once you get to practicing 5 on 5.

Of course you can! I never played volleyball in my life until my freshman year, and then in my sophomore year, I became JV captain. Our school was also league champions. :) If you have a will to be successful, you can do it. Mainly, coaches in high school are looking for POTENTIAL. Even if you don't play that well, if they see great potential during try-outs, you'll definitely get in. If they see you wanting it, you're a winner. :)
