Find the real owner and give them their laptop back. Go to the store, buy your own computer and you can set your very own password to it so people can come on here and ask how to break into your laptop. If you really wanted to know, ask the person who owns the laptop.

You can't.

1) If you are the laptop's original owner, and someone set a password, you're seriously screwed.

1 a)So is anyone giving you directions on how to bypass the Security Settings (it's a felony / indictable offence in most jurisdictions).

2) If you are NOT the original owner, and it passed to you in a legal manner, contact the original owner for the password... "Y'know that laptop you sold me, well..."

2 a) If you are NOT the original owner, and you, ahem, "acquired" it from the discount truck in the alleyway, turn it in (anonymously or not, your choice), and buy your own.

3) If you are the original owner, you set the password, and you forgot it...have fun, and remember 1 a) above.

Sorry.
