It takes a lifetime to build trust and about 1/2 second to destroy it. My best advice, keep trying to stay on the straight and narrow, it will take a lot of time and a lot of patience. Eventually one person will trust you again and then another and so on. PATIENCE is the key. Don't give up. Be the better person.

The only thing you can do is show that you realise you've done wrong, apologise, take responsibilty for your actions. Then prove that by not making the same mistake again, prove yourself to be trustworthy. Be worthy of trust. And then wait. Being on the recieving end of bad decisions and untrustworthy behaviour, it took me a long time to get over the hurt caused. Be patient and accept that you caused the distrust.

Trust is hard to earn and easy to loose. However, it can be regained with time. Time and being consistent and predictable. I don't mean predictable in a negative sense, but predictable in the sense that the person you are trying to earn trust from can predict and trust what you are to be doing. For example, if you are supposed to be home at 8:00, you will be "predictable" in the sense that you will indeed be home at 8:00. Predictability can go a long ways to restoring trust.
