I really like to organize parties and be creative. I also like to help people with their problems. I like to do office type work but not necessarily customer service. What kind of careers would be good for me. Is there a test on the interbet that I could take to find a career based on my interests??

In 1998 I went down to the local community college and took an aptitude test. Now I'm buying a 4-bedroom house and I gave about 5000 to the church throughout 2006. At night I get to help people online. The aptitude test didn't give me a magic answer but it was the best way for me to start figuring out what I could do. I'm hopeful that your relatives will begin tototally support you when you decide to go for it. whatever "it" turns out to be.
P.S. now I think I know why i lost track of "momofone..."

There are a number of career tests or interest inventories on the Web, but you probably get what you pay for. The well-established, validated ones (like the Strong Interest Inventory) will cost you about $65 or more. The free or low-cost ones may or may not be helpful, valid or reliable.

If you have a community college nearby, see if they have a free or low-cost career counseling office. If so, they'll have good tests and other aids available.

Get the book 'What Color is your Parachutte?' It has several excercises in it to help you take inventory of your interests, skills, and experiences and look at career options. This is a very famous career book. Any booksstore should have it. If your library doesn't have it, they should be able to do an inter-library transfer so that you can check it out.

Good luck.

PR work sounds ideal, an organizational career.

Occupational Outlook Handbook (you can find it easily on the web) gives info on the nature of any given type of career, salaries, outlook, links, etc.

Good Luck!
