y = 2x -3 is an equation of a line in the slope-intercept form,
y = mx + b where m = slope and b = y-intercept..

***m = 2

therefore, slope is 2...

Its a linear function. Maybe you are supposed to graph it? It doesnt have one answer as it is.
You would graph it. Some of the cordinates of the graph are,
(-3, -9), (0, -3), (3, 3)

y is increasing by 2 for every x; the slope is 2

the y, or vertical intercept is -3

the x, or horizontal intercept is 3/2

Your question really doesnt have one answer. Im sure there was more to it.

the answer is a strait line with a slope of 2 and a point at (0,-3)

Watch.

y = 2x - 3

y + 3 = 2x

1/2 (y + 3) = x

Solved.

Addendum: Oh, now I have more information. Slope is 2.

What are you trying to solve?
Two equations are needed to solve for two unknowns!
If you are referring to the slope, the equation y=mx+b, m is the slope. An equation in the first degree is always a straight line!
If you are plotting for a graph assign values for x and solve for y.
For example:
If x = 1, y = -1
If x = 2, y = 1
You can now plot your straight line by connecting these two points!
