IN YOUR OPINION....A young lady that just graduated college, living in Texas, no kids and single??

Let's say this person wants to make enough to live comfortable, but also make enough to have a little spending money, and some to into the bank....

ONCE AGAIN THIS IS YOUR OPINION!!!

The reason why I'm asking is because I'm young and will be graduating college soon at the age of 22. The field that I'm going into doesn't matter being that most jobs just want you to have some type of degree anyways, so in your opinion what would you call a good salary??

Coming straight out of college with little or no experience, you'll most likely be looking at entry level management positions or a technical entry level job. Depending on where you'll be living in Texas, you may expect anything from $35,000 to $45,000. It would be great if you get more then that. But I definitely wouldn't take anything less then $35,000. However, you also want to look at their benefits and rate of promotion. If their offer in on the low end, but has great benefits such as retirement plan, great medical insurance, 401K match, etc, then take that. However, if they offer you $45,000, but offers little or no benefits, you may want to pass on that. Medical insurance can be very expensive, and if they are not contributing to your "retirement plan", then there's really no future with you and that company. Lastly, look at how fast they promote, and what are the criteria for their promotion process. They may offer you a sign on bonus also.

Don't know about Texas but in Ontario, Canada I can live comfortably on my own, buy a house, have some savings and go spend and have a good time with 40k a year

Well my sister who graduated Industrial Engineering made 60k starting off, but I understand that is at the high end.

I think most people only make $30,000 starting off, if you arn't an engineering or science major.
