Sometimes It do and sometimes it don't. Twins run in my family on both sides. My dad had a set of twins from his first wife, and my mom had a set from my step dad. BUt twin are heavy on both sides. My brother who was twin, he and his wife had three kids together, and the funny thing of it is she is a twin also. But they never had twins. So that is just a myth. I have a cousin who's grandmother who had 4 sets of twins and and 3 sets of triplets but only three of the children had twins.

Skipping a generation is only a myth. Since your mother has a fraternal twin there is a high chance you could someday have twins!

Your chances of having twins yourself is very very high.. if not in your first pregnancy, it may be on proceeding pregnancies. It doesn't mean that you will have a 100% twins.. it just means your chances are very very high.
Fraternal twins means you produce 2 eggs during your ovulation, instead of the usual one.
On the other hand, having identical twins is not inheritable.

depends.... usually fraternal (nonidentical) twins that are carried by the mothers side skips a generation- but identical twins are completely random..... also, if the twin thing comes from her father's side- probably not.
