I had low progesterone with both my pregnancies and also had a miscarriage inbetween. I did not start taking the progo tablets until later ...probably 8/9 weeks with my first. She came out fine. Had low levels with my second pregnancy and did not get offered progesterone I had a miscarriage. Used prochieve gel with my third and am now 39 weeks.

So I guess the short answer is no its not too late.

The HCG is a good sign. A low progesterone does not mean she is miscarrying, but it could put her at risk.

A lot also depends on what they saw on the ultrasound, if they have done one. If there's no cardiac activity by now, that's a bad sign even with a high HCG. In that case, progesterone isn't going to help.
If there's a heartbeat, then progesterone tablets can help to sustain the pregnancy.
Ask your doctor!
Good luck.

I had to take progesterone with my last 2 pregnancies. I don't think it is too late to start taking it. It is usually around this time period that I would start taking the progesterone. With my 2nd pregnancy I had to take shots in the rear everyday for 3 or 4 weeks. My 3rd pregnancy I just took the pills. Much better. I would insist that your doctor place her on progesterone. The levels usually go up once you start taking the pills/shots.

it should not be too late to take an aid to raise the progesterone levels... my sister had this problem with one of her pregnancies... we do not find out we are pregnant though till eight to twelve weeks at times... so it is not too late... what it is however... I vaguely rememeber reading, is dangerous....? somehow?
you need to look up info about it... I think the babybest.com and babycenter.com are pretty good... also webmd.com! I think there are some drs who won't do much so this might be one where you and your wife have to make a choice and just advise the dr. of your plans..... so it is noted in the charts for later..... ? I might be off on that.. but I asked my obgyn when I found out about my sister and he said he would not have allowed her to take anything.... which is why I went hunting for info in the first place.. her baby was a healthy boy... btw... and her levels were low the duration.... but she took a supplement always to keep it up.. she was pretty sick often now that I think of it... drained.....
that is all I have to offer, I am sorry to say... wish it were more... good luck!

On the pregnancy/mommy forums I frequent I have heard of many many moms starting progesterone 6-8-even 10 weeks or more in. It is certainly worth a try!
Call the doctor in the morning and be on progesterone by midday, 33 weeks from now you could be holding your brand new baby and I promise its a moment you will never forget!

If she hasn't started to miscarry or anything, I don't see why it would be too late to take progesterone supplements to keep the pregnancy. They need to check how many babies are in there, though, if she has high HCG levels!

My breasts weren't quite as swollen at around 11-12 weeks, and a LOT of pregnancy symptoms began to fade as you near the second trimester. 8 weeks is a little early but for her it may be normal. I would definitely let the doctor know, but in the mean time don't get too worried.

Your name is The Man, and what a man you are. She is lucky to have you, and I have one like you. You men are heaven sent. They say there's no more left, and that you all are taken. But anyways, it is not to late but tak her to the doctor immediately. Don't worry, just pray for Jesus Christ to save your unborn child and in no time you will be holding your new addition to an already loving family. I thank you and bless you for your courage and love for your growing family. Food for thought:
Matthew 15:28
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

John 14:14
4 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
