i wear it because i like to put it on..i like to practice different techniques i wear it because i like it...it doesn't make me have confidence, confidence is the best beauty tip..btw...i dont do it to impress guys, not because i think it makes me look prettier, because i think i look the same...i have been told i have a great natural complexion so yea.. just have a tint of color...i can go to the store with no make up..i think its dumb to have to be perfect..if i cant impress no1 with wat i got then well i guess im not impressive..but im not gonna try to...and apparently people are better impressed when i wear no make up because of my wicked snake skin eyes!!!

Expectation. Our expectations are set up so that women look a certain way.
In the 18/19th century it was attractive to be fair skinned. It showed that a woman did not have to work. So makeup was white to make a woman look pastier...that was the expectation of beauty. (as was a fuller figured woman - showed she was wealthy nough to eat well)
It is now different for the most part....girls wanna be tanned or look it. It seems to be prevalent in all cultures for a woman to be "decorated" in some for or fashion.
So I guess most wear it because they feel they have to...

Well, it depends on the woman. I personally don't wear a lot of make-up. I just hate it when some one wears a lot of make-up or bad make-up. The most some one should wear on an everyday basis is mascara, some eyeliner, concealer, blush, and lip gloss and maybe eyeliner. It's just more feminine to wear make-up and take care of your skin.

Because when a women is ovulating, her lips get redder and men are (unconciously) attracted to that woman. So in painting her lips red, she is taking advantage of that natural trait in false form on a regular basis, not just during ovulation

Since I don't wear makeup, that's a hard question for me to answer.
If makeup isn't natural looking, I feel like the person is trying to make themselves something they are not. I prefer people who are happy with themselves and use very little makeup just to smooth out their natural looks.

Numerous reasons. Confidence, peer pressure, men, influence of celebrities, to make themselves look younger. Women have been wearing forms of makeup for thousands of years. Even Cleopatra did.
