I accidently left my DS in a restaurant, and when I realized it was gone, it was a week later, so I figured the restaurant wouldn't have held onto it that long if they found it.

So, I was considering the PSP.

What are some good and bad things about it? Should I buy this or another DS? Are the games good? How do you pay for internet if you don't have wireless in your house? Is it pretty easy to figure out, or does it take some skillz?

Now for an objective, unbiased answer...

Pros:

Intuitive
Multifunctional
Plays various media formats
Can be used as portable storage device
Great aesthetics
Internet functionality
Can be used as an mp3 player
Share pictures (but that's it) with other PSP owners
Easy to hack (the running joke is that PSP really stands for Preferred System of Pirates)
TONS of homebrew applications to run on the system

Cons:

98% of the games are garbage or poorly converted ports of already less than stellar PS1/PS2 games
Battery life is horrendous
Attracts fingerprints and dirt very easily
Fragile
Price point puts it out of reach of many people
Expensive storage, but the prices have dropped dramatically
Internet functionality is extremely limited and further taxes the already poor battery life
UMD movies that cost as much as full DVD's with only a fraction of the content
Vast, unfulfilled potential.

Your best bet? See if someone at the restaurant actually has some sense of honor. For all you know it may still be there. If it's not you're better off getting a DS. Since you already had one, you must've had games for it. That's certainly cheaper than dropping $250 on another portable and have to spend money on another batch of games.

Well you should definatly contact the resturant. If they have any dignity they probly still have it. I'd espesially want it back if it was one of the older ones.

Okay if you were to pic from PSP to DS I would go PSP. Its way more mature. All updated PS2 games. I never hooked my PSP to the net 'cause frankly I can't pay for it. Not that it expensive or anything. You might need about 60$ at most to get WiFi started. And if you have the money its as easy as turning on your computer to get on WiFi.

Pros- Good games, slim, ligthweight, Brightscreen, fast(kinda) internet. Cons-eh, not a whole lot, It differs from person to person for cons. You dont have to pay for internet unless you use like, internet from maybe, like, a hotel that makes you pay and stuff, but like you could still pay and use it easily. It's pretty easy to figure out. If you've grown up playing PS or PS2, it's pretty easy to figure out. I love my psp, one of the best things I've bought. Just if you buy it, it'd be good to buy a screen protector, cause if the screen breaks/cracks/scratches, you cant get a replacement, soooo yeah

psp is pretty good, it has good games, shooting games arent that fun, except for socom because it has lock-on, otherwise you use the triange square x and circle buttons instead of the other analog stick.
the psp has a lot of homebrew games for it. you can watch tv on it, with the location free player. and they arent that expensive anymore, ebay has them for $130 used. and the internet isnt hard to come by, everyone has a router for some reason. most places are free, but starbucks, and bookstores usually charge for it, same with hotels.
the psp has camera you can buy. very good buy. and other than that, nothing reallt else, so good luck...

It's an mp3 music player and storage that also can be used as you would the ipod shuffle for listening to tunes. It can surf the net. It can
play videos, movies etc... Play Games purchased or downloaded.
screen size and resolution is great. You can store and display photos. It's a pocket entertainment PC basically.

Down side it's not as durable as the ds. Don't drop the PSP.

Cons:
I can't say any cons because I have had my psp for almost 2 years and I have had no problems with it.

experts: pics and twin sticks = portable video games that could play like or perhaps especially situations play WITH ps3 video games. cons: battery existence. that's truly helpful to purely get a ps3, the vita video games are going to be adapted to portable reviews (rapid little play sessions) and not precisely reflect a ps3 experience. yet there will be some video games that are the comparable or such as living house console reviews so truly it extremely is as much as you. lookup the video games that are introduced and study them and determine if there are adequate you desire to play to warrant the acquisition
