Many schools offer BFA (bachelors of Fine Art) i've attend 3 even. The risk is that the programs are expensive and there is no real guarrentee of employment after, its really all about how hard you work and how many connections you make. here are some schools to check out
Rhode Island School of Design
Cal Arts (mainly a design school, but very prominent)
Californa College of Art, Oakland/San Francisco
Cornish College of Art. Seattle
Emily Carr Institute, Vancouver
Ringling School of Art
San Francisco Art Institute
Chicago Art institute
*note NOT all art institutes are created equal! and anything with the word Art Academy in it is probably not worth looking at.
also many State schools have prominent art departments, like UCLA, NYU, UW etc
