If you did something bad to someone, admit it, apologise for it, make it right if you can. Then forgive yourself. If you keep trying to run away from it, you will only keep thinking about it, it will haunt you for the rest of your life. If it is merely a regret, accept the fact that you can't go back and change the past, but try to do what you can now to make happen what you want to happen.
Good luck!

Most people screw up some time in their life . . .
If it is possible to make amends, make them, unless it would cause more damage to whomever.
If it is not possible to make amends, just counsel others on avoiding the mistake you made, like how others can avoid it.
It does sound like you at least learned from it & will not be repeating the mistake. Lots of people seem to never learn !
Good luck to you

It really depends on what you did. Breaking someone heart would just be a matter of going and saying sorry but if you killed or hurt someone then you might need to do alot more. Really hard to give advise on such a wide open subject matter.

Just keep thinking about it. Eventually your brain will mess it up so you won't really remember what exactly happened. :)
I haven't tried this method yet, but things in the past are hard to recall.
