it is a no boot problem
One way to Solve this problem would be,
Keep Hitting F8 as soon as you turn on the computer.. you would see the windows advanced boot options menu. Choose Last known good Configuration. and hit enter twice.. it should boot to windows.
2) the other option is to try and boot to the safe mode ant then do a system restore .
3)if you have the original windows Xp Disk then boot from it and the on the first installtion screen hit r to go to the recovery console..Hit 1 to choose the windows installation. then type, FIXBOOT and hit enter, Con firm the Same.
after that type FIXMBR hit enter and confirm the same by hitting Y.
after that type" CHKDSK /R " and hit enter.. after that is dome restart the computer by typing exit. then take out the disk. this should allow you to go to windows.
4)if this does not resolve the problem you can try to repair windows or you can try a clean reinstallation.

Mash down on the F5 or F8 while the thing starts, That put it in Safe Mode, It will then load. When loaded. Go to Start, Programs, Acessories, System, and System Restore.
Restore the system to like a couple days or a week ago when it ran good. There is a box in there for you to type in the date.

it is not the battery if it starts up but it could be that you need to reinstall the boot program or xp might need to be reinstalled you should ask someone you know that is a comp. administrator and let them work on it

sounds like your gonna have to go into your puters BIOS and do some changes. That or it's your booting sequince is wrong. If your running XP set BIOS to boot from hardrive.

it usually has to do with the hard drive. maybe something in there blew up or something, and its causing it not to function well. what i suggest is going stores where computers are sold, like best buy and asking about that.

the most likely answer depends on wether its a laptop or a desktop. if its a desktop, u probably have a virus. if its a laptop, you probably dropped it or something and scratched the hardrive.
