It depends on the kind of lie. If it's something that could come back later to bite you in the butt, then no. If it's something that everyone's gonna forget about in a couple weeks, yes.

That depends a lot.
If I liked the person enough, I might lie so as to save them from something horrible, but I would eventually tell them the truth. (telling the truth eventually saves your friendship and does not destroy trust).
If, however, I disliked the person and was feeling especially sadistic, I would tell the truth to throw the situation into chaos.

Absolutely -- tho I prefer to find a way around telling an out-right lie...
by not telling the whole truth or evading the question.
BTW: Are we talking "devastion" like ruining a friendship or like end-of-the-world?? I's lie like a dog to protect my family & my country.

There is a "Lie" item in the MMPI that puts, "I Never Lie". Those who say "True" make themselves out to look like liars. Everyone lies. Period. It's human nature.

Yes, I would. We all lie, but not all of us like to admit it. It's human nature.

There would be no turning back, so no, tell the person the truth.
