I can't get one in, no matter what! And I do lots of sports so it would be so much help if I could get past this dilemma. All my friends can get them in just fine, except me! What do I do?

Put lots of vasoline on the tampon . Stand at the toilelt and put your left foot up on the toilet stool. Lean forward. take a finger and push that tampon in. In your mind push it in like you are pushing it towards your tail bone. If that doesn't work, push it like you want to push it up to your bellybuttom. You need to find the right angle where it will fit. YOu will need to have it in past a muscle that you will learn once you are familiar with that area of your body.
Give it time. Lots of girls have problems learning to use them.

have you had sex yet? the reason i ask is mayby your hymen is so intact it is not allowing it. if you do not think that is the problem here is a tip i hope helps. you have to RELAX put one foot up on the bathtub and kinda bend down so you open yourself up a bit and try and insert it that way. make sure too that you buy the new ones for teens they are slender and kinda glide in. the best way to tell a tampon is in right is you should not feel it at all. i hope that helped!

I had a hard time using them at first too.... now I'll never go back!!

Try different tampons... the plastic applicator kind tend to be a bit smoother to put in. Try standing and squatting a little to get one in... it might just be the way your insides are shaped that's giving you a hard time. Another option is to try a little bit of lubricant (KY Jelly).

Read the directions on the box, use lubricant, and try a smaller tampon, but do it at the heaviest time of your period. And you're probably just too tense, I was like that at first too, but I got them in. Don't worry, you will be successful.

Good luck!

use slim tampons with a plastic applicator (i suggest playtex slimfits regular absorbancy or tampax compak junior absorbancy).
stand while resting a foot on the toilet and relax your muscles. then, gently push it up. keep pushing until you get it in!!
also, read the directions on the box, they are very helpful!!

Possibly aiming wrong way? Aim towards your lower back when putting one in. And relax. It's easier to put a tampon in if you're not stressing about it.

Make sure you relax, and point it toward your lower back. beaware that your putting it in the right place! just go slow, but be sure your not tense, once its in you wont feel a thing, and it'll be comfortable. :) good luck

you are most likely very tense when you do it... so try to relax.. try to do it with one foot on the toliet and push it towards your lower back.... MAKE SURE YOU ARE RELAXED!!!! if your not your muscels will be all tense and not allow the tampon into your body..

I have a similar problem. If you get it in, please e-mail me. Everywhere I read, it says you have to relax.
