I saw a sign on the Family Christian Store door the other day that said they were hiring and forgot to ask for an application. But I was wondering if anybody would happen to know their minimum working age. I'm assuming 18. 16 at the minimum. But I know there are jobs that will take you at 15, and i've still got 4 months to go until I'm 16. Anybody know?

Most states have 'working papers' available for students under the age of 16. Your guidance counselor at school should be able to assist you in getting them. A lot of stores will hire a person under the age of 16 IF they have working papers. Your hours are limited during the week to hours outside of school, and not past a certain time of night. Same thing on the weekends, with more flexibility.

More than likely 16-Call the store and ask and if 16 to assure you getting a job if your interest is sales in a Christian Bookstore then ask if you can do some volunteer training until you reach 16 for that would then guarantee you a position when you turn 16.Retail Sales experience is valuable as a reference at least 6mos but better if minimum is 1 yr for then you can branch out into more lucrative Retail sales where most positions require experience.
