They try and predict baby's weight by "general measurements" and the average gain of fluids, etc.....I have 3 kiddos and they were all different then expected. They can predict baby weight about as good as they can predict the weather! lol

My doctor told me that my daughter would probably only be about 5 pounds. I was really small and I am also fairly tall which I guess must have been a factor because when she was born she weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. Boy was the doctor shocked! That was 14 years ago and I hear that technology is much more accurate now.

I was told I was going to have a small baby. I gained about 17 pounds and was expected to have a 5 pounder. I never was able to eat due to morning sickness from 6 weeks to the day of labor. My baby weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces

I am 5'1" and gained 25lbs pounds during my pregnancy the doctor predicted that i will be having a 10 pounder when i first went in labor at 38 weeks, and that i may need a c-section.She was SOOO wrong I did have a vaginal delivery and my daughter was 6 pounds 2 oz.
She admitted herself that no one in the hospital is going to believe her now.

My dr told me my last baby was gonna be really small...I had GD. which is to mean a big baby...he told me she'd only be 5 pounds... that he had to induce me, if he didn't the GD would make her have a big head and wide shoulders, if i went much longer then 38 weeks... she came in at 7 and a half pounds normal head and shoulders. it just shows how much they don't know. 2 an 1/2 pounds is not that much... but when he was telling me all the stuff and that i might have to leave her at the hosptial ... i worried for no reason

My Dr. told me that my son would be between 7 and 8 lbs. He came out a lot bigger, at 10lbs. 13 oz. That is almost 11lbs. And she told me that as i was in labor, and the weeks that lead up to labor. So quite a bit different. I am currently preg again and at 34 weeks we get ultrasound every week to make sure I don’t have to go threw all that again. Of course worth it I love my son but still if I can avoid it I would be happy to.
