Being mean is part of the theatrics. However, I think this year, he has gone a little too far in picking apart contestants. Now, about the contestants. I still can't believe that people who have absolutely no talent actually think they can sing.
These people are advised before going in front of the three judges, that they can be lampooned if they don't sing good. Yet they still do it.
Why do parents allow their children to subject themselves to this ridicule? One father said that his son sang like a bird and i was expecting something pleasant. Instead, I heard the worse noise making ever.
Yeah, Simon can be brutal, sometimes even mean, but sometimes, these people ask for it.

I think he is fine. He does his job well. Television stars are supposed to be entertaining not nice. Imagine if you had to listen to thousands of horrible auditions. He is a lot better than most people give him credit for.

He can be. I like to watch him though. Man did he drop the ball when it came to Jennifer Hudson. She is going to be BIG and he thought she had no talent.

I dont think that hes too mean, I think hes truthful, but I also think some of it is a act for TV

i don't like that pop music crap, but if that's simon's specialty, then fine. still i don't see how they could think someone like clay aiken is a good singer.
