Why does our society accept the homosexual lifestyle as a perfectly normal lifestyle? Why does our society embrace drugs and alcohol? Why is our society so driven by sexually promiscuous imagery? Why is abortion (the murder of innocent babies) allowed in our society?
Why do people call that which is immoral a good thing and that which is moral a bad thing?

Laura - Most of which I listed are immoral things that have been considered as such for thousands of years. Mothers didn't kill their babies as recent as 100 years ago. Every Tom Dick and John were not drinking beer and smoking a doobie 100 years ago. Sorry! But, you got it all wrong. You've been brainwashed by our liberal society.

PsychoMistress - It's funny, I never mentioned ONE thing religious and you accuse me of being such. What if I just want to live a moral life? My, where is the tolerance you liberal free-thinkers preach?

PsychoMistress - Please, spare me the history of beer. I'm plenty aware of the safety in drinking beer over polluted water. But, must I remind you that was during the Middle Ages when no adequate filtration process was in use, very justified. What's the excuse for excessive drinking and society's obsession with alcohol today... in the enlightened society we live in today?

WoW! Where's the tolerance you liberal morons preach? Amazing!
So far, I have been branded an uneducated, religious, ignorant, judgemental, fool, simply by asking about matters of morality.
I guess I'm due for a flogging next.

I don't think people know what's right anymore. They've become so desensitized to wrongful behavior. I can't imagine the reaction that two homosexual guys would get in the 1950's or a woman who decided to kill her unborn child back then. Life was better sixty years ago; although, there was still common problems back then like there is today, I don't believe society had to fight with drugs, promiscuous sex and child molestation. Family and God was the foundation back then and our society has gotten far away from that in the last few decades.
Unfortunately, I don't see any change in the future--it will only get worse. We even live in a society where a parent is afraid to discipline their child in fear of going to jail for child abuse. With that said--plan to live in a world with mouthy kids, promiscuous teenagers, infidelity, abortion, and same sex marriages.
I also believe that people have become afraid to stick up for what's right. If you say you're against same sex marriage--all of a sudden, you're made into a narrow-minded, uncompassionate, gay-bashing, holy rollin' Republican which in most instances is completely false. I think people have completely adapted their lifestyle to what everyone else is doing or believing. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em--right? Wrong! People need to learn to stand up for what is right... just like that ole saying--if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. So true in this day in age.
And contrary to what most think about moral people being those religious fanatical christians--I am, however, a 22 year old college student who shys away from fanatical religion... this, however, does not mean I am not a Christian--this means I find flaws in all religions (including mine) and I think any extremity in anything is bad. I believe in a good family foundation and I believe good morals come from good parental teachings. If the parent doesn't know the difference between moral and immoral, well, that's just another guarentee that this world won't get any better.

As I Muslim woman who is constantly hounded for my modest dress. And most people would prefer there daughters to run around in band aids for clothing and be eye candy for your local pedafile and rapist.
I am looked down on because I refuse do drink under any circumstances. I am "spoiling the party" because I wount have "just one drink". While people are sympothise with Drug and alcohol addicts who killed 16,885 people in 2006 in drunk driving accidents. Consider it "not there fault" they are an addict. The fact is they are not addicted to driving. If they know they have the problem they need to lock up there keys before they drink. Not to mention the amount of child and spousal abuse that is done when peole are drunk. And the number of kids who go hungry at the end of the month because Mom or Dad used the food stamps to buy a 5 cent candy everyday so they could use the change to buy a 40oz at the local convience store. Yes this happens all the time. I was so thankful when they switched to the cards so there was no change. But in some areas they still don't have cards.
We are criticised because we do not date or have any type of physical relationships with the opposite sex prior to marriage. People say we are being "opressed" While woman are being used and thrown out with the trash every day in this country. My husband respected me enough to marry me without a "test ride". I am not a peice of meat. I am a woman to be treated with respect.
This world has gone backwards. It is really sad. But I don't care. I will hold to my morals. I would rather do the right thing than the "cool thing"

Revelation is nothing more than a political attack on the Roman Empire by an unknown author. Please, educate yourself.
Society is turning away from avoiding these things because they are religious views, and people are fed up with religion because of people like you.
OP - you have shown yourself to be very ignorant of what you speak.
Beer, or alcohol, has always been around. It is one of the very first consumable liquids to be made, even in ancient Rome.
The reason? Safer to drink than water. Water carried disease and filth.
Women have been terminating pregnancies for hundreds of years. There are natural herbs that do so.
You should definately try to learn a few things before you go around telling other people they are wrong.
Edit: Be that as it may, OP, you are still lacking knowledge in almost all areas of your post.

Okay, first homosexuality IS normal. Second there is nothing wrong with alcohol in moderation (yes there is a problem with drugs), third because, unfortunately, sex sells, and last abortion is, and will remain, legal because it is a woman's choice and its not a baby, its an embryo.
Most of what you listed is not immoral.
Abortions have been taking place for well over 100 years. You've never heard of back alley abortions? Alcohol has been consumed for, again, well over 100 years. Where did you go to school? I thought these things were taught in history classes. Actually, I'm not wrong and you would know that if you read up on the things you are calling immoral. I think you are the one that's been brainwashed into thinking all these things are wrong when really only one of them is.
Oh, and just in case you want to know, I'm not a liberal. See what labeling gets you?

Simply because their frame of reference for value decisions is different from yours. They may be more likely to make moral judgments based on CONSEQUENCES of their actions. A simple consequence question would be "Who is harmed?" Who is harmed by the private activity of 2 consenting adults? Who is harmed by drugs and alcohol use? In this case, while discrete private use may harm no one, drunk drivers certainly do, and meth'd out parents who neglect their children certainly do.
The thing to remember is that only a barbarian believes the customs of his tribe are the laws of nature.

First of all, you do not choose your sexuality. It is hard wired before you are born. Secondly, abortion in the early term of pregnancy is not murder. At that point the fetus is nothing but a mass of unspecific cells. As for drugs and alcohol, they are the refuge of really desperate people who haven't learned how to cope with life. They are more to be pitied than scorned.

Heres my question to you- Who are you to judge?
It sounds like you are God-fearing. So dont you think that you should live your own life and stop worrying about what others are doing? They only answer to one. And that One is not you.
Second: you are allowed to have your own opinions and worship your God in this country.... as well as others are allowed to worship or not worshop and have their own opinions.
