The American public schools system is a failure that should be abandoned. American students fall short in international comparisons, placing 18th in reading, 22nd in science and 28th in math - behind countries like Poland, Australia and Korea. The reasons: our Government's monopoly over the school system. Parents DON'T get to choose where to send their children. In other countries, choice brings competition, and competition improves performance.
Would my child get to choose where he attends college?
My answer to your question is no. Including colleges and universities in the public school system would only make them worse.

Naah... It wouldn't work out right. There aren't enough colleges to take every student out of High School. I think the college education system should stay the way it is.

well they are supported by local governments but I would be scared if college reverted to a childlike school environment from public school.
