whats a good introduction for a speech on arm control...i want something to catch my audiences attention...and i a good intro for global warming

You'll have to do a much better job with your speech than you did with this question if you're going to engage an audience.

By arm control, I'm assuming that you mean "arms" as in weapons control. I first thought you meant arm as in appendage.

So, is it global warming or arms or what?

If it was global warming, in my area (New Hampshire) I might talk about the dogwood trees in Portsmouth that were blooming in January.

If it was Arms control, I might start by asking who has a right to defend themselves.

Then again, arms control has differing meanings. Is it International arms control? Do you question who should have nuclear weapons? Or do you mean civilians posessing arms?

You really need to be more specific.
