Stop trying. Start being confident that who you are is pretty cool. Behave like you aren't affected by what anyone else thinks of you. Don't use that as an excuse for being an a**, but just behave like a "I am what I am" kind of guy. Pretty soon, you'll even believe it yourself. :)

In my experience, those who try the hardest to look cool, actually look the least cool!! Just relax and be yourself!! It doesn't matter if you look cool or not, because if somebody is going to like you, it'll be for who you are not how cool you look. And if they don't like you, they are not worthy of your efforts anyway because they are judgingyou on your appearance and therefore will never be a true friend anyway!!
Learn to be comfortable with who you are and you will be at your coolest!!!

I guess you just have to be yourself. What else can be more cool that someone who is steadfast in his/her own values, without being influenced easy by the surrounding.
