Hmm... one event thats defiantly still affecting us now is Black Tuesday. The stock market crashed and caused the Great Depression . During this time and a little before it, Roaring 20s many people's outlooks on life changed drastically, (like in the Great Gatsby). Also During this era Roosevelt introduced programs such as social security, which now drains many federal funds, and is estimated to be broke by approximately 2050 i believe.
