Hoot was filmed all over Florida. The school's name is Croissant Park Elementary. It's in Ft Lauderdale. A lot of the beautiful nature scenes were filmed in south west Florida near ft Myers.

I recognized the golf course in the begining of the film was in Boca Grande at the Gasparilla Inn and club.
