I had a caterpillar but it just hatched and i don't know what to feed it, i made this honey and water mixture...it seemed to like it but I'd like to know for sure, please don't tell me to google it, that's why I'm on Yahoo answers

I've found butterflies like a strong sugar and water mix. Stir about a tablespoon of sugar in about an ounce of water.

Old fruit like bananas that are soft and mushy, a sports drink like gatorade. Hummingbirds drink a 1 part sugar to 3 parts water. Ideally you should release it, many animals are very particular.

the honey water mixture is ok. that's what they feed butterflies in butterfly farms. you can also use a water-sugar mixture.

Sugar syrup is fine... Keep drops of in flower petals. Butterflies get attracted to color of the flower and that make it easy to lead them to the sugar syrup

i had one once too a few years back-we put jello mix in water. they don't need a lot. & any over-ripe fruit they really enjoy.
