my gramma says that the slightly narcotic cayenne pepper or other hot to extremely hot peppers are good conductors for dream visualization, clarity, lucid dreaming techniques, and for remembering the dreams in detail. Also, it is always okay to set an alarm (not loud and not and actual alarm or buzzing or beeping sound, etc) for three to four hours after bedtime to aid in the REM sleep stages. Waterfalls, birds, storms, and even soft music are better so as to not disturb the sleep cycle in a traumatic and possibly volitile way. sometimes a full bladder at bedtime can bring dreaming to a clearer and more frequent happening, as well.

When I take American ginseng, my dreams last longer and they're also more vivid and amazing! You may also want to do a search on Google about lucid dreaming; very interesting.
