I hav e some from the petrified forest and wondered how old it could be. please help me.

If your sample is from Petrified Forest National Park in the USA it is about 200 million years of age, from the first period of the Cenezoic Era, the Triassic Period. Petrified wood can't be a lot older than that because the types of plants that could produce wood didn't come about until about that time.

no one can really know how old a petrified wood be unless one takes it to the lab to be examined and carbon dated...

however, an expert can estimate its age..
