I have tried everything the support site said to do such as toggling the hold switch and pushing the buttons and I reinstalled itunes and tried to reset it. When I open up items and plug the ipod in it doesnt acknowledge theres a connection...Im so pissed..I just got this thing for christmas and I swear I have been treating it very well. Has anyone else had to send theres off for warranty work? How does that work? Does it cost any money?

would you believe i'm having the same problem? try resetting it manually i.e. holding the centre button and the menu button. hold for a long time (like 30 seconds) and if THAT doesn't work, and you've done everything else then you need to send it off. i don't think you pay for warranty work, but you need the warranty and your receipt. try www.apple.com/support - they should have more info

No, because if it is a factory problem that the machine had apple will give you a full refund or will give you a new one, although it's very rare that ipods have factory problems. If it was your fault, then you have to buy a new one.
