You have to be invited - either as a delegate, a party official or one of those lame people they parade out to make us think they car about people with problems. You don't want to go anyway, hotels will cost $400 -$500 a night, there will be protesters all over the place and most of it is a yawn-fest, I suggest watching it on TV. But if you really want to go, contact the party you are registered to in your county or city and see what you would need to do to become a delegate (it's partly luck, since you will need to run as a delegate for a particular candidate, most of the delegates-at-large are county and state party officials).

If you're trying to be funny, you missed the mark. John Kerry gave a pretty good speech at the last convention, explaining that no party owns the American flag. There won't be a free-Saddam rally, because, unlike Bush, we are smart enough to know that the man is dead... and that a lot more Americans would be alive if he wasn't. Since Bush gave bin Laden an extra chance at life in December 2001, maybe he should give bin Laden a kidney, but then, his is probably so diseased by drink that his colonoscopy should have picked that up. And the Democratic Party has given this country plenty of reasons to propose toasts. By the way, I counted: At no time would Ted have a blood-alcohol content anywhere near George W. Bush when he was arrested for drunk driving in 1976. And Bush's stupidity has killed a hell of a lot more people than the designers of the bridge where Ted had his accident. And, unlike Dick Cheney, Ted wasn't trying to kill something.
