The Monarchs don't count as NFL since none of them were true NFL talent. Those teams and NFL Europe are like the developmental league, or scrub league for the NFL.
Anyways, you know that the game will sell out in hours. I've seen reports that it may be the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins coming to England.

I am sure that 100 plus years of their football tradition will be swept away after an afternoon of watching our brand of football. In fact, they will immediately petition for an NFL franchise the Monday after the game.

The latest American linked with buying an English footie side owns an NHL not NFL team.
And as for NFL the sport taking over here, London Monarchs didn't last did they, and it's only one game that's being played here next season.

Britain has had American Football for many years, it is just not followed with any great interest. My local town has had an American Football team since the mid 80s - the Brighton Bears.
The general consensus being - why watch American Football when we have Rugby?

The NFL isn't exactly "taking over". They have been trying to make significant in roads in Europe for at least 10 years! I think soccer/football will grow faster in the US than the NFL will grow in the UK and Europe.

Real football (soccer to you) is so much better than American football. It is a faster paced game with much more excitement than American football. I seriously doubt that it will be very popular in Europe.

Pshh...Ha...Yea, I CANNOT see that ever happening, I am sorry. Nothing against the NFL or anything...Soccer is just tremendously HUGE is England. I don't think any other sport will be able to ever overtake it.
