Lebanon is a very small country but with lots of very pretty places -- Baalbeck, Byblos, the hills above Beirut, the coastline, the cedars, etc. Muslims and Christians are scattered about and it's wrong to say that one place is either Muslim or Christian...
There's Shi'a Muslims, Sunni Muslims, Catholics, Greek Orthodox, Armenian Orthodox, Chaldeans, Maronites, Protestants, Druze, Alouites, and probably others I haven't mentioned. I think there's 13 or more religions represented in the country.

as the people above me said, muslims and christains and others are all living there and they dont see anything different, i mean its a country where muslims and chrsitaians dont fight together but live together which is really nice. lebanese people are freindly.i am not lebanesee but i went there for my vacations. if you like clean air...go to BRUMMANA! its the best, its called the "city of flowers", snows in winter, in summer you will have lots of fun, there are mostly christains there and also muslims, also some syrians who come there to work. nice restaurants and also a hospital where smokers can go and naturally get treated instantly( without any medicine) because the air is so clean and sometimes if you are in the balcony, the clouds touch your face and you feel like you are in heaven. belive me, people who smoke there have no problem with their lungs nor get cancer and also all my acne disspared when the clouds toyuched my face. its like heaven and God is healing you.:) asthma can also be cured.in the summer the weather is great though. not cold, not hot, not humid!(its heaven again cause people together live in harmony together unlike some other stupid countries)
Beirut on the other hand has alot of nightlife, music, concerts (shaggy even came there),shops and some old buildings and good taste in clothes.the weather is humid or hot in the summer, many muslims there but all the same, everywhere in lebanon , the people are nice wheather they are different religion or colour..
the food in lebanon is s great and nice!people are great! music is available in arabic, english whatever you like.clothes are fantastic.

I totally agree (again) with Smutty.
Lebanon has beauty everywhere, but if we talk about organized and cleaner areas, that are christians.
About the numbers........the last census was in (i'm not sure) 1937, and made by frenchs.
The diaspora is almost all christian, but last times they are denying the citizenship to the lebanese and their sons bornt outside Lebanon. Why that??
It is a right that all lebanese man has... to give his sons and daughters his own nationality..
More than 14 millions of lebaneses from that diaspora are living outside Lebanon just now... You think a bit.. If 1/5 part of us decide to go back.......Who the majority would be???
Who wants Lebanon to be an islamic country, dont want us there.
But in spite of being outside, we have our voice and will be heard.
Peace for Lebanon!!!!!!!

It is hard to get accurate statistics in Lebanon. To the best of my knowledge, the last official census was conduct in 1932.
I think the current statistics in of Lebanese INSIDE Lebanon is roughly 65% Muslim with 35% Christian; this is if we include the Druze with Muslims (which is not technically true - since Druze are not Muslims)
The Lebanese diaspora is however mostly Christian some of whom have lost their Lebanese citizenship since they were born outside Lebanon.
As for the most beautiful place in Lebanon, I say, Beauty is relative.
It is fair to say though that Christian areas are in general more organised and cleaner for reasons outside the scope of this question.

Muslims form the majority NOW in Lebanon, due to ploygamy and the culture of having many children. There are also a lot of palastinians who live in Lebanon. According to latest data, Muslims now constitues two thirds of the population of Lebanon.

The most beautiful place in lebanon doesn't have this question and measures people by a different criteria.
It's been a long time since anyone's asked their next door neighbour if he/she prays at a church or a mosque, nobody's even thought of asking the president or the prime minister this question, it's all by merit and the best person for the job.
you guessed my answer...who's counting? who cares? and the best place is in my dreams.

55% of lebanese are muslims while 40% are Christians and 5% are Druze
lebanon has very beautiful places in both muslim and christian districts. For example Baalbek is in a muslim area, while cedars are in a christian one.
Shops and retaurants are present in both areas (Hamra and Achrafieh)
Nightlife however is better in a christian district.
and as a whole christian districts are less dense and a little more organized than muslim areas
