Certainly, Al Gore (the inventor) did not consider the bad. The NSA did warn the US Senate committee that anonymous connections to the internet would be a problem, but the US Senate went on without it.

If they invented the internet to be PREDATOR FREE, then each MAC Address of every ethernet card, high speed switch, router and hub would have to be registered to the USER. This would be like tracking GUNS and other dangerous device. But trust would be much more instant, and bogus devices would be tracked down, and thieves would be JAILED. But would that be a FREE Society.

But NO, gullible people will simply have to LEARN the hard way. They will have to suffer greatly, as we enjoy the use of the internet. Identity Theft is a huge and growing problem. So be aware.

Remember the old rule that our parents taught us. "Never talk to strangers".

Good luck and Happy Computing.

you mean which is worse the information or the entertainment?
whats the difference with this media versus the television? there is a wide variety of information (good) and entertainment (eh) on television, radio, newspaper, books, printed materials in general, as well as the internet. so it depends on how you use it and what you like and dont like i would think

More good, but more bad is starting to appear...like porn, myspace, stalkers, that kind of thing. If it weren't for the internet we wouldn't be on yahoo wouldn't we? :D

The internet is a fabulous resource.
PREDATORS ARE EVERYWHERE.
as are the on- line sting operations, thankfully.
But keep your unsupervised children off the net!
and naive adults beware as well.
Be careful, and enjoy!

The Internet is not bad, people are bad. Don't blame an inanimate object for the depravity that is humanity...

it's a blessing if you don't spend your entire day on it neglecting more important stuff. it's a curse if you use it for evil or you're on it 24/7.
