Well, if someone has green hair, that person usually is trying to look different or get attention. Stares would obviously be a normal part of that. But stares aren't necessarily a bad thing, maybe some stare in admiration, others wonder how it became green, and perhaps others think it is frightful. Whatever the reason, if something is different, you have to expect stares and curiosity from other people.

I haven't done anything to be stared at for quite a while (Beatle bangs, miniskirts, hiphugger bell bottoms, black Cher eyes, bobby pins for earrings, what a laugh now!); but I sometimes stare at others (well, glance long) out of admiration. I have a ... soft expression (not like recoiling from a snake, y'know?), because I'm glad for folks who are independent about their styles or use their appearance as an art medium (my favorite) or simply to check the reactions of others (walking experiments). Where is the spice of life if not there? What a wonderful freedom it is to do such, I wish more folks could tune in to what they really like and go for it. Yeah, a little more expression would be great.
It's fun to make a quick "URGH!" face when a rude stare comes, tho'. Heh!

You act crazy because you are uncomfortable. If someone has green hair they are looking for attention so why get upset when someone looks? They are getting what they want. It's like people look at car accidents and stuff so its only normal to stare at some freakish hair. Relax, its not that serious.

I have nothing against people how do things like get lots of tattoo or piercings or dye their hair unusual colors. My brother shaves his head, has about 2 dozen tattoos and used to have about 30 or so piercing. He says it never bothers him if someone stares.
I do have a question though.
If you don't want to get stared at, why do something that is going to get people to stare? If you do something that is out of the norm, people will react as if it's not normal. If it bothers you that much, don't do it.

Isn't that the purpose of an unconventional hair style? My daughter had "chunks" of bright pink in her black hair (natural color is dark blonde) because she wanted to be different. We went to a restuarant and almost every server in the place "managed" to walk by our table and stared at her head. I thought it was very funny and she enjoyed to attention. Needless to say our water glasses were always full! lol

You obviously have schizophrenia. You may benefit from a short-duration injection of the antipsychotic trifluoperazine or a rapid succession of slaps across your hysteric green-hair having monkey face.
