"Trich" is not as bad as it sounds. It will clear up with the cream that was prescribed to you usually within 7 to 14 days. But it can be passed on from and to your partners, so they need to be treated as well.

Do yourself a favor, don't have unprotected sex, EVER.
Next time it could be worse than a "vaginal irritation".

There are free STD e-mail cards you can send, anonymously, if you can't tell them to their faces. At least send this to the unprotected partner. If you've always used condoms with your current partner, then you can maybe keep it to yourself, but not have sex with him until you're cleared up.

You could always encourage your current partner to get tested - "Hey, I'm going to get tested, since it's been (however long) since I was last tested - would you mine getting tested yourself?"
