I promise I will give a best answer tonight if anyone can help.I just asked a little while ago how to hook up a printer to my laptop. I have a router and wirless internet. I have a desktop hooked up to my printer now. I followed all the steps people hae told me. I copied an example of a response on the bottom. I get to the browse part, and it searches for the printer and nothing comes up. I set the desktop to share the printer like everyone said. Does the printer software need to be installed in the laptop? Both computers are window xp...I am so close to being able to print on my laptop. Please please someone help me with why I cant do the last step...

1 - On your desktop - go to Printers
2 - right click on the printer you want to use
3 - on the menu select properties
4 - In Properties click on the Sharing Tab
5 - Click Share This Printer then give it a name.
On your LapTop
1 - Go to Printers
2 - Add A New Printer
3 - Browse...My laptop cant find the printer here.

whether it extremely is not instant, it has a cord. in fact it has 2 wires. one cord is for power, it has the transformer (little black container) that plugs into the wall. the different cord is the single it makes use of to talk with your workstation. One end of the cord plugs into your printer. the different end has a plug which gets inserted into your workstation. whether it extremely is not a quantity years old, it could have a USB plug, which plugs into any USB port on your workstation. If it has another style of plug, seek for the holes which tournament the prongs on the plug. in many situations it extremely is going to purely go in one way. if the cord from the printer is USB and your workstation is extremely old and has no USB port, visit Radio Shack, and get an adaptor.
