While I didn't lose it, the weirdest place I ever found something that was lost was inside a small evergreen bush. I used to work the midnight shift for a small inn and was in charge of watering the shrubbery. Once while watering, a $20 bill fell out of the bush, displaced by the water. I picked it up and bought myself a tank of gasoline when I got off work the next morning. To this day I still wonder how that $20 bill got inside that bush...

I live on a boat in Miami and lost my leather-man knife over-board one day while working on the boat.Went diving for it but could not find it.Well my friend comes for a visit from Chicago and tries his hand at fishing off the side of the boat, you guessed it he snagged my leather-man. It was still in good shape since it's made out of stainless-steel.

In my hand, in the place I swore I looked. In my pocket, the weirdest was resting on my ear, I had a pencil resting on the back of my ear. LOL, it took me a full 5 minutes to notice it was behind my ear.....

I lost a badge from work during inventory once. It came back to me 6 months later, in a box on an inbound truck!

well i have many. first thing when i was little i lost a slinky ( yes the spring toy). i sat it around my soda can on the coffie table. i looked for it for hours. my mom said to me "shorty stop freaking out and sit down and think where you could have left it". i sat on the couch took a drink of my soda and when i went to sit it back down the sleenky fell into my lap. go figure a slinky fits perfect around a soda can. i also lost the remote to the tv for weeks. i went to the freezer to get some pizza rolls, laided it down inside the freezer and forgot it there. go figure. lol

O my
I have a story
When my youngest (now 13) was only 1 1/2 - I took off my engagement ring to put hand cream on. I set it on the table beside me, on top of some newspapers and beside my check book. I don't know why but I left my wedding ring on - probably because I couldn't get it off as it's 1/2 size smaller than my engagement ring.
I put my daughter to bed and when we went to bed, I realized I hadn't put my ring back on, and so thought, o well, I'll do it tomorrow morning.
Of course I totally forget until a couple days later. We searched high and low for that ring, even in the air ducts and registers, the recycling bin, the couch cushions and even my other 2 children (then aged 3 1/2 and 6 helped us look. My youngest couldn't speak yet, but I asked her about my ring because she often played with them while they were on my finger. She indicated that she had put it in her mouth - or so we thought - so I watched her diapers for a few days with no results.
After about 3 weeks, we had searched the entire house over about 3 times. I cleaned out my purse and wallet so many times that I knew every square inch of them....

one day - about 4 weeks after the ring was lost - we decided to throw out one of our living room chairs. My husband took it out to the curb in the evening. The next morning, we were getting into the car to go to church when I said, "hang on - I just want to check that chair one more time for my ring". So I did (for about the 6th time. Even ripping the ticking on the bottom and shaking it about and feeling all around inside etc. .... nothing.

I get back in the car with a sigh and say OK let's go. The children all strapped in the backseat and ready - and my husband looks at me and says.... "can I ask you a question?" I say "sure". He says "what does your wedding ring look like?"

Now you have to know my husband - he knows nothing about jewelry and could care less - when we went shopping for my rings,,,, he brought $50.00..... hahahaha

So I show him my wedding ring on my hand. He says "that's the wedding ring?" and I say in exasperation of course "Yes"
He says "then what is this?" and holds out my ring!!
I screamed "where did you find it?"
He says "well while you were looking in the chair I thought I'd get the church offering ready so I opened your wallet and there it was"

Go figure - I had looked in that wallet - actually taken it apart several times.... and he opened it and there it was as plain as day.
Meanwhile - the kids are in the back seat yelling "pwaize da low-ad - pwaize da low-ad!"

needless to say - we did praise the Lord and I do claim it as a miracle.

Found my car keys in the cabinet beneath the microwave once. I think the cats did it. That's what I'm saying, anyway.
