I think you have to be careful to note just who is doing the whining.
Teams from the north often have problems with southern weather. Teams from the south often have problems with northern weather. Teams from high elevations have problems with low elevations, and vice versa.
I don't think very much of the moaning comes from the players themselves. Most of it comes from sportswriters or fans who are desperately trying to find something to pin their frustrations on.
In particular, Soldier Field has a tradition second to none in the USA, and I am happy it is still there! It's like playing in Yankee Stadium! These traditions are what contributes most to any mystique the game still has. Viva George Hallas, Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Vince Lombardi, Jim Brown, (Brett Favre) and a lot of men who preceded and followed them but played the same way.
We could, however, do with a lot fewer of the other type of whiner --- the players in this case --- who behave like under-educated, spoiled, self-absorbed children. Their whining isn't even for the team, but for themselves. Do the names of two current wide receivers come to mind?
Sad --- you know exactly who I mean, don't you? Will they ever be a part of any tradition?

Well the weather will be a factor in 2 week for the bears.
Home Field advantage will be for the Colts, Because Payton is from the south and they love him.
The Florida heat and humidity will cause the bears a lot of cramps and slow them down.
A football field a city can afford, the bears are not used to a fast track or a good one at that.
The Chi Town Mod is out of their territory and will not be able to fix the game.
The only real hope you guys have is that the Bears coach is darker and may make a better history picture.
Buy yourself a crying towel now and save a few bucks

All football should be played outside!!!! I wish the Cold weather Stadiums would get to host the Super Bowl also but that would never happen because of the comfort issue and some of the stadiums are not big enough. I love watching a good snow game!!!

I was hoping the Saints would beat the Bears, but much like almost all of the teams that the Bears played/beat this season, the Saints aren't really THAT great of a team to begin with.
It won't matter though, February 4th the Bears will have some kind of complaints of their own as to why they lost to Dungy and his Colts team!

Tell them Aints that yesterday was a balmy day for mid January standards. What we need is a Superbowl in Greenbay. How fitting it would be to win the Lombardi trophy on his turf.... GO BEARS!!!
