Good question......I myself love Soccer, and I played it for 6 years of my life, and I think it should be more popular than it currently is. It takes alot of skill to play soccer. I think alot of men think its a whimpy sport....but it's the entire opposite of whimpy.

Maybe because we have never really had an amazingly good national team or star player like Michael Jordan in basketball or Joe Montana in Football. If you think about it most kids here grow up playing soccer and than move on to more glorified sports when they are older. (well at least I did)

From what I've heard, from people who dislike soccer, they don't like the game because it's a low-scoring game and they don't understand a tie-- in all popular American sports, there are no ties but, in soccer, there are. Personally, I adore soocer!

People just don't know the game. I will tell you something though, soccer players have the best legs!! My husband was a goalie all through h/school & college - he knows the game!! :}
