The 100m line up. Sprint or Swim? etc.
There are biological differences between the races. Some are as clear as day. But these are physical and arbitrary. They all fade into insignificance when compared to the principle of Mind which defines the whole race.
Racism does not stem from the tribal instinct, genetically the 'other' is the potential bringer of new technology, so instinct teaches us to explore with caution, not hate.
You cannot be racist towards monkeys, you can only be 'racist' towards other human beings. Racism is politics, not biology.

It depends how you define racism. In todays liberal society racism is often seen as anything that could cause offence to any minority even if no offence was intended.
As for tribal instinct - I'd have to disagree. Not long since come back from Africa and met people from lots of different tribes and tribal chiefs and elders. To them racism is just a word, it's not something they ever experience - we could learn an awful lot from these people.
My nickname over there was 'white boy' - didn't bother me in the slightest because it was said without malice. Over here calling someone 'black boy' would be considered racist regardless as to the context.

Not necessarily as simple as Tribal Instinct.
Throughout the development of the Human Race in all its forms, whether it is White, Black, Yellow, Green. African, Asian, Aboriginal even.... when humans came across something different it tended to attack or run.
Mostly, it attacked to protect territory.
Other tribes and races acted and reacted the same way.
Thus 'If it's different - It's dangerous'
This will be the last of the vestigial reactions to be overwritten by the 'civilisation' of Man.
Unfortunately, we may end up with Race Wars before we end Racism for good!
We have come a long way up the evolutionary ladder so a majority of people control these feelings and are no longer controlled by the 'attack if different' response.
Perseverance is what will help us to survive, and I believe it will be worth it for the next evolutionary leap!

Yes, I'm strongly inclined to agree which is why I was so bemused when loads of people asnswered my question of a similar vein with health-warnings and counselling proposals. It's an innate thing. We shouldn't feel ashamed because we have more predilection to feel animous to some people over others; rather, we should understand the reasons, and then try to move past our instincts, as they are not so applicable in modern society.

Yes but as all races mix into one (which is happening =) ) we will evolve and race will no longer be an issue.
